PT Berau Coal through the Dharma Bakti Berau Coal Foundation (YDBBC) again held free medical treatment for residents in two villages, Kampung Birang, and Kampung Tasuk since last Wednesday (17/7).
Based on observations, many residents in the two villages complained of being attacked by Acute Respiratory Tract Infection (ISPA).
Sakrani, Birang’s headman said that this program is very helpful for its citizens. Remembering the health facilities is far from them, “we thank PT Berau Coal for taking care of our health here,” he said.
The same thing was also conveyed by the Head of Kampung TASUK, Faridah. She said the long dry season is the main cause the people attacked by ISPA. She also considered this program very helpful for the community, considering that going down to Gunung Tabur to pass a health check was quite far away.
“Thank you PT Berau Coal for coming here and provide health services for residents in Tasuk. Moreover, we are also given drugs for free, “he explained.
Meanwhile, General Manager (GM) of PT Berau Coal’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Horas Parsaulian Pardede said that this free medical treatment was included in PT Berau Coal’s four-pillar program and it has become a commitment for PT Berau Coal to help the community around its operations areas.
“For the KAT Birang, there are 55 residents and 80 people in Kampung Tasuk. The health team that we brought has carried out an examination and gave them medicine too. For this free treatment program, it doesn’t stop here, but there are still some villages that we will go to,” he concluded.
